We do automatic image recognition to detect suspected fake ID documents.
We provide additional eyes (auditors) to help you.
We protect your privacy by not having to share with unknown people a high-res photo of your ID document (that they might then use to impersonate you).
We protect your privacy by permitting you to prove your identity without even having the verifier looking at your ID document. Instead you just share proofs that others have audited you.

If somebody uses image manipulation software to falsify a passport by e.g., pasting his image to it then you have on record the photo of the perpetrator along with proof of the falsification. This can later on help the police investigate and to secure conviction. With a fake passport presented in physical form it is quite unlikely that you will have the same evidence.
The information you provide IDifier during the Identity Verification process is governed by our Privacy Policy and transmitted using SSL-the same secure encryption that websites use to transmit credit card numbers.
When we receive information from your Identity document, we store the number in a secure and encrypted form, so you should only have to verify your ID once. For countries with knowledge-based authentication, we don't store the questions or your answers.
Only a small number of authorized IDifier employees are allowed access to your original documentation for troubleshooting or internal purposes.
