Combatting identity fraud on the Internet

IDifier helps you make sure that people you meet online are who they claim to be. It convinces you of their identity as if you had met them in person at their home or work location and they handed you over their photo ID.

IDifier is an essential tool for any online service that needs identity verification, such as online marketplaces, online personals, as well as scores of others from the collaborative consumption and crowdsourcing movements.

IDifier asks you to input your personal information, along with documents, photos, and GPS signatures that can be used to audit it. It then performs automated and human-driven face and character recognition, as well as location detection to verify and connect all your claimed identity attributes.

Watermarking, cropping and elaborate algorithms are used to ensure that nobody has access to reusable or forgeable pictures of your ID documents and that your security and privacy is preserved.

Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and Council of 24 October 1995 on the protection of individuals regarding the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data.
Directive 2002/58/EC of 12 July 2002 concerning the processing of personal data and the protection of privacy in the electronic communications sector.

When your identity, or parts of it, have been audited and validated, you can then share profiles to prove parts of your identity to verifiers. The profiles are just special URLs, which can be shared easily with anyone who needs to verify your identity.

Verifiers can be other users, e.g., a person with whom you communicate with on a dating site. They can even be online services, such as a betting site that wishes to verify whether a user is over 18. Verifiers do not need to have registered with IDifier to view your profiles.

With IDifier, users have the option to remain anonymous when other users or businesses verify attributes of their identity. At the same time, a verifier knows that IDifier can hold a user accountable for his transactions.

Personal Information

Create an IDifier account and enter your identity information like name and surname, your contact info and your addresses info. Your data will be verified with various means and fake information will be detected.

Address Verification

Declare your home and work address. Take a photo of your utility bill or enable infrequent and privacy-preserving location tracking to allow IDifier to verify your location.

ID document photos

Take photos of your ID document, bank statement and your face. To preserve your privacy and prevent identity theft, you have to crop several fields of your ID document photos before they can be verified. Also, watermarking is employed.

Bind together your online identities

User's have different online identities for each of the services they use such as email and social network accounts. Connect from your IDifier profile to your Facebook and Google+ accounts to verify your declared information and link those accounts with your IDifier online identity.

Peer Auditing

Audit the identity information (attributes) of other users, while other users audit yours. This is a simple process where everyone helps each other to prove their identities. You will be notified when you have audits to do. We use smart algorithms when assigning audits to ensure that auditors cannot reconstruct your complete identity from the fragments they see.

Prove your identity

Create temporary profiles choosing the identity information that you need a user (verifier) to check and share it with this user. To prevent re-use of your profiles, specify a context and an expiration time for each profile you create.
